The Fall oli brittiläinen vuonna 1976 Prestwichissä, Manchesterin tuntumassa perustettu rockyhtye. Yhtyeessä soitti sen perustajan Mark E. Smithin lisäksi yhteensä yli 30 jäsentä. Yhtye nimettiin Albert Camusin romaanin Putoaminen mukaan. The Fall oli John Peelin suosikkiyhtye ja yhtye tekikin BBC:n studioilla 24 nauhoitusta Peelin ohjelmaan.lähde?

Yhtyeen tuotantoon kuuluu 32 studioalbumia ja The Fall julkaisikin melkein joka vuosi uuden studioalbumin vuodesta 1979 lähtien. Lisäksi tuotantoon kuuluu 32 livealbumia ja yli 30 kokoelma-abumia. Yhtye julkaisi siis uransa aikana yli 100 albumia.lähde? Kolme niistä valittiin vuonna 2005 hakuteokseen 1001 albumia jotka jokaisen on kuultava edes kerran eläessään[1].

The Fallin perustaja ja solisti Mark E. Smith kuoli 60-vuotiaana 24. tammikuuta 2018.[2]
