Mark Gatiss
Mark Gatiss (s. 17. lokakuuta 1966 Sedgefield[1], Englanti, Iso-Britannia) on englantilainen näyttelijä, koomikko ja käsikirjoittaja. Hän oli osallisena neljän käsikirjoittajan komediaryhmässä nimeltä Herrasmiesliiga (The League of Gentlemen). Ryhmän muut jäsenet olivat Reece Shearsmith, Steve Pemberton ja Jeremy Dyson.[2] Hän on ollut myös tekijänä menestyneissä englantilaisissa televisiosarjoissa, kuten Doctor Who ja Uusi Sherlock.

Mark Gatiss syntyi Sedgefieldissä, Durhamin kreivikunnassa. Hänen lapsuudenkotinsa oli lähellä edvardiaanista mielisairaalaa, jossa molemmat hänen vanhemmistaan työskentelivät.[1]
Gatiss oli nuoruudessaan suuri Doctor Whon, Sherlock Holmesin ja H. G. Wellsin ihailija, ja hän on ollut tekemässä niitä kaikkia käsitteleviä televisiotuotantoja 2000-luvulla.[1][3]
Gatiss on avoimesti homoseksuaali ja ollut rekisteröidyssä parisuhteessa näyttelijä Ian Hallardin kanssa vuodesta 2008 lähtien.[2]
