William Slapp

englantilainen säveltäjä, tanssija, laulaja, pianisti ja fagotisti

W. Slapp eli Wm. Slapp (21. huhtikuuta 1786 – 26. huhtikuuta 1868), oikealta nimeltään William Henry Slape, oli englantilainen säveltäjä, tanssija, laulaja, pianisti ja fagotisti.[1][2] Vuodesta 1798 Slapp esiintyi Royal Opera Housessa ja seuraavalla vuosikymmenellä opiskeli Joseph Mazzinghin (1765–1844) johdolla,[1] omistaen tälle ensimmäisen numeroidun opuksensa, kolme sonaattia pianotriolle (julkaistu Lontoossa noin 1803–1806). Heinäkuussa 1808 Slapp haki Royal Society of Musiciansin jäsenyyttä, mutta hänen anomustaan ei hyväksytty; uusi hakemus marraskuussa 1808 läpäisi äänestyksen 5. maaliskuuta 1809.[1]
