English: Water-color painted probably in 1889. Tent site on an ice floe on the east coast of Greenland. Otto Neumann Knoph Sverdrup is holding onto the boat where Balto is sleeping. He is preventing the boat from being taken by the waves. (A similar drawing by E. Nielsen is published in the book Nansen, Fridtjof: «Paa Ski over Grønland», Kra 1890 p. 225 (On skis across Greenland)).
Deutsch: Aquarell vermutlich 1889 gemalt. Zeltplass auf einer Eisscholle an der Ostküste von Grönland. Otto Neumann Knoph Sverdrup hält das Boot dort zurück, wo Balto schläft.
