The Flaming Lips

The Flaming Lips on yhdysvaltalainen yhtye, joka kuuluu tunnustetuimpiin kokeellisen vaihtoehtorockin esiintyjiin. Suurimman läpimurtonsa yhtye teki vasta kuutisentoista vuotta perustamisensa jälkeen julkaistuaan The Soft Bulletinin (1999). The Flaming Lips tunnetaan omasta kuvastostaan, jossa Jeesus, joulu, robotit, Disney sekä metafyysisesti taistelevat ja vertavuotavat ihmiset kohtaavat toisensa –ulkoavaruudessa.

The Flaming Lips on vieraillut kaksi kertaa Suomessa, vuonna 2007 Ruisrockissa ja 2009 Pitkässä Kuumassa Kesässä.

Historia

Yhä toimiva yhtye perustettiin Oklahomassa vuonna 1983.
