Konseptialbumi on ensimmäinen osa kolme albumia käsittävää trilogiaa, jonka teemana on viikinkien historia. Sanoituksien innoittajana ovat muinaiset norjalaiset saagat ja muut tarinat, kuten Adam von Bremenin kirkon historia. Levyllä Gerd Lücking korvasi rummuissa yhtyeestä lähteneen Randy Blackin. Levyn on tuottanut ja miksannut Uwe Lulis. Kansitaiteen on tehnyt Thomas Eberhart.
