Kappaleista 11 on J.J. Calen kirjoittamia ja vain "Three little girls" on Claptonin käsialaa. John Mayer kirjoitti kappaleen "Hard to thrill", sekä sovitti kuuluisan blues- klassikon "Sporting life blues" (Brownie McGhee -cover) duolle. J.J. Calen kiertuebändi säestää heitä albumilla, mutta mukana on myös tunnettuja artisteja: Taj Mahal, John Mayer, Derek Trucks, Doyle Bramhall II, Albert Lee, Nathan East, Willie Weeks ja Steve Jordan.

Vuonna 2008 albumi voitti Grammy-palkinnon kategoriassa paras nyky-blues albumi.
