Leroy Jenkins (muusikko)

Leroy Jenkins (11. maaliskuuta, 1932 Chicago, Illinois, Yhdysvallat – 24. helmikuuta 2007 Brooklyn New York, N. Y., Yhdysvallat) oli yhdysvaltalainen säveltäjä ja free jazz -viulisti.

Jenkins oli mukana Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians-ryhmän (AACM) toiminnassa ollessaan koulunopettaja Chicagossa. Hän myös on yksi Creative Construction Companyn perustajista Anthony Braxtonin ja muiden kanssa. Hän johti Revolutionary Ensembleä ja muodosti trion Anthony Davisin ja Andrew Cyrillen kanssa.

Viisitoista viimeistä vuottaan Jenkins teki lähinnä tilaussävellyksiä, kuten rap-oopperan Fresh Faust, kantaatin The Negro Burial Ground ja Hans Werner Henzen saksalaiselle festivaalille tilaaman Mother of Three Sons. Hän kävi Suomessa Tampere Jazz Happeningissä vuosina 1987 ja 1992.
