Arabesque

Arabesque oli vuonna 1977 perustettu saksalainen diskoyhtye, jonka tunnetuimmassa kokoonpanossa vuodesta 1979 lähtien esiintyivät Sandra Ann Lauer, Jasmin Vetter, ja Michaela Rose (perustajajäsen). Ennen lopullista kokoonpanoa yhtyeessä ehtivät Rosen lisäksi esiintyä Mary Ann Nagel, Karen Ann Tepperis ja Heike Rimbeau. Vuonna 1984 yhtye hajosi, kun Lauer aloitti soolouransa yhdessä Michael Cretun kanssa. Rose ja Vetter jatkoivat vielä jonkin aikaa nimellä "Rouge" saavuttamatta kuitenkaan mainittavaa menestystä.

Arabesque oli ensimmäisestä singlestä, Hello Mr. Monkeystä lähtien hyvin suosittu etenkin Japanissa, Isossa-Britanniassa, Australiassa ja Neuvostoliitossa. Kotimaassaan yhtye ei kovin huimaa suosiota saavuttanut, mutta vuonna 1980 Marigot Bay nousi singlelistalla sijalle 8 [1]. Yhtyeen hajoamisen jälkeen heidän kaksi viimeistä singleä, Ecstasy ja Time to Say "Good-Bye" nousivat hiteiksi Etelä- ja Itä-Euroopassa, joissa italodisco oli hyvin suosittua. 16. joulukuuta 2006 Arabesque osallistui kokoonpanolla Michaela Rose, Sabine Kaemper ja Silke Brauner Moskovassa järjestetyille Retro FM -festivaaleille.
