The Lords of the New Church
The Lords of the New Church oli punkrockin superyhtye, jonka kokoonpanon muodosti neljä muusikkoa 1970-luvun merkittävistä punkyhtyeistä. Yhtye toimi vuosina 1982 – 1989. 2000-luvun alkupuolella The Lords of the New Church teki paluun kahden alkuperäisjäsenen (James ja Tregunna) voimin.
The Lords of the New Churchin perustivat vuonna 1982 punkpioneerit Stiv Bators (The Dead Boys), Brian James (The Damned), Dave Tregunna (Sham 69) ja Nicky Turner (The Barracudas). Se julkaisi kolme studioalbumia ja yhden livealbumin ennen kuin Bators lopetti yhtyeen 2. toukokuuta 1989 Lontoon Astorian keikan jälkeen.
"The Lords" - kuten fanit yhtyettä kutsuivat - sekoitti imagossaan goottirokkia ja glampunkia (glamrock-yhtye Hanoi Rocksin Michael Monroe soitti yhdellä yhtyeen albumilla saksofonia). Heidän musiikkinsa oli tummempaa ja melodisempaa kuin perinteinen punk.
