Canterburyn arkkipiispa on Englannin kirkon johtaja, primus inter pares eli "ensimmäinen vertaistensa joukossa" maailmanlaajuisessa Anglikaanisessa kirkossa, Canterburyn hiippakunnan piispa ja samannimisen kirkkoprovinssin metropoliitta.[1] Uuden arkkipiispan nimittää kuningaskunnan hallitsija pääministerin neuvosta kirkon nimitysvaliokunnan suositusten pohjalta. Arkkipiispa on parlamentin ylähuoneen jäsen.[2]
