Antony C. Sutton
Antony Cyril Sutton (14. helmikuuta 1925 – 17. kesäkuuta 2002) oli brittiläis-yhdysvaltalainen historioitsija, taloustieteilijä ja kirjailija. Sutton oli Stanfordin yliopiston Hoover-instituutin tutkija 1968–1973, jolloin hän kirjoitti Western Technology and Soviet Economic Development -sarjan teokset. Antony Suttonin mukaan Yhdysvallat ja sen liittolaiset rakensivat Neuvostoliiton rahoittamalla sitä ja siirtämällä teknologiaa sen käyttöön. Antony Suttonin mukaan Neuvostoliitto oli länsimaiden luomus ja samalla ”paras vihollinen mitä rahalla saattoi ostaa”.
Antony Sutton tutki Yhdysvaltain liittovaltion virallisia asiakirjoja ja selvitti mitä teknologioita neuvostoliittolaiset tehtaat, aseet ja laivat sisälsivät. Antony Suttonin mukaan esimerkiksi Neuvostoliiton Vietnamin sodassa Yhdysvaltojen vastapuolelle antama tuki oli osin mahdollista Yhdysvaltojen ansiosta. Suttonin mukaan Neuvostoliiton kauppalaivaston (yhteensä 6000 kauppalaivaa) moottorit olivat länsimaista teknologiaa. Antony Sutton irtisanottiin Hoover-instituutista pian sen jälkeen kun hän oli vuonna 1972 todistanut Subcommittee VII of the Platform Committee of the Republican Partyn edessä yhteenvetämällä tutkimustuloksiaan:
»In a few words: there is no such thing as Soviet technology. Almost all — perhaps 90-95 percent — came directly or indirectly from the United States and its allies. In effect the United States and the NATO countries have built the Soviet Union. Its industrial and its military capabilities. This massive construction job has taken 50 years. Since the Revolution in 1917. It has been carried out through trade and the sale of plants, equipment and technical assistance.»
Irtisanomisensa jälkeen Sutton toimi vapaana kirjailijana ja kirjoitti muiden muassa bolševikkien vallankumouksesta ja Hitlerin valtaannoususta.
