Dale on itse intohimoinen [[lainelautailu|surffaaja]]. Hän sanoi kehittäneensä soundiaan siltä pohjalta, minkälaisia ääniä hän kuulee surffatessaan. Dale kiinnostui ympäristöasioista koettuaan surffailu-vesiensä pilaantumisen ja on toiminut aktivistina. Hän ryhtyi kasvissyöjäksi selvittyään syövästä.
