Praying Mantis
Praying Mantis on brittiläinen heavy metal -yhtye, joka edustaa 1970-luvulla Britanniassa syntynyttä NWOBHM-tyyliä. Yhtye perustettiin 1970-luvun lopussa nimellä Junction. Vuonna 1980 Praying Mantis julkaisi ensimmäisen levynsä. Se oli kolme kappaletta sisältänyt EP-levy. Ensimmäinen täysimittainen albumi, Time Tells No Lies, ilmestyi vuonna 1981, kun yhtye oli solminut levytyssopimuksen BMG Europen kanssa. Esikoisalbumiin sisältynyt Cheated-single oli menestys. Hiukan sen jälkeen Praying Mantis kuitenkin hajosi. 1990-luvun alussa yhtye perustettiin uudelleen. Vaikka yhtye on jo julkaissut lukuisia albumeita, se ei enää ole saanut kovin paljoa suosiota.
