  Polygamia on laitonta ja käytäntö kriminalisoitu
*Intiassa, Malesiassa, Filippiineillä, Singaporessa ja Sri Lankassa moniaviollisuus on laillista vain muslimeille).
*Nigeriassa ja Etelä-Afrikassa moniaviolliset avioliitot ovat tavanomaisen lain mukaan laillisia ja muslimien moniavioliitot ovat laillisesti tunnustettuja.
*Mauritiuksella moniaviolliset avioliitot eivät ole laillisesti tunnustettuja. Muslimit voivat naida jopa neljä naista, mutta heillä ei ole vaimojen oikeudellista asemaa.
