William Harroun Behle

William Harroun Behle (13. toukokuuta 1909 Salt Lake City, Utah – 26. helmikuuta 2009 Salt Lake City, Utah) oli yhdysvaltalainen lintutieteilijä.

Behle varttui Salt Lake Cityssä ja valmistui East High Schoolista 1928. Hän opiskeli Utahin yliopistossa. Vuonna 1932 hän meni Kalifornian yliopistoon Berkeleyhin, jossa hän väitteli filosofian tohtoriksi vuonna 1937. Myöhemmin samana vuonna hän palasi Utahin yliopistoon opettajaksi biologian osastolle. Hän työskenteli osastolla 40 vuotta, ja toimi yleisen biologian johtajana vuosina 1948–1963 ja lintutieteen professorina. Vuonna 1973 Behle toimi pelikaanien suojelukomitean (Pelican Protection Committee) johdossa. Behle jäi eläkkeelle vuonna 1977.

Behle sai lukuisia kunnianosoituksia ja toimi seuraavien yhdistysten ja järjestöjen hallituksissa tai puheenjohtajana: Utah Audubon Society, University of Utah Chapter of the Society of Sigma Chi, Cooper Ornithological Society, Wildlife Society, Society for the Study of Evolution ja Utah Academy of Science, Arts, and Letters.

Behle avusti Utahin luonnonhistoriallisen museon perustamisessa. Museon kokoelmissa on noin 25 000 lintunäytettä, ja lisäksi preparointitilat, kirjasto, karttakokoelma, opetuslaboratorio ja opiskelijoita varten erillinen lintujen lisäkokoelma.

Behle nimesi joitakin lintujen alalajeja, muun muassa sinipääskyn (Progne subis) alalajin arboricola.
