The Corries
The Corries oli skotlantilainen kansanmusiikkiyhtye, joka tunnetaan skotlantilaisen perinnemusiikin esittäjänä. Vaikka yhtye alun perin esiintyi triona, sen tärkeimmät menestykset ovat Roy Williamsonin ja Ronnie Brownen yhteistyön ajalta. Esiintyessään molemmat muusikot laulavat ja soittavat monipuolisesti erilaisia soittimia, kuten kitaraa, mandoliinia, bodhranrumpua tai combolinkitaraa.[1]
Roy Williamsonin säveltämä ja yhtyeen vuonna 1967[2] esittämä Flower of Scotland on saanut erittäin suuren suosion erityisesti urheilutapahtumien yhteydessä Skotlannin epävirallisena kansallislauluna ja valittiin yleisöäänestyksessä suosituimmaksi viiden ehdokkaan joukosta.[3] Skotlannin ollessa osa Isoa-Britanniaa sillä ei ole virallista kansallislaulua.
Roy Williamsonin kuoleman jälkeen vuonna 1990 Ronnie Browne on jatkanut yhtyeen kappaleiden esittämistä.
